Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric patients, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, feeding and mobility
- Monitor and document vital signs, patient status and changes in condition accurately
- Collaborate with nurses and rehab staff to support individualized care plans
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
- Prior experience working with elderly or rehab populations preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Able to pass facility background checks and meet health screening requirements
- Reliable, caring, and comfortable assisting with hands-on patient care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient hygiene, transfers and mobility assistance
- Able to take and accurately record vital signs and observe changes
- Familiar with basic rehab support and documentation best practices
- Strong communication, empathy and teamwork skills
- Comfortable following care plans and reporting concerns promptly
