Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and meal assistance
- Monitor residents' condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Help with safe transfers and mobility support while following proper body mechanics
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
- Support a positive living environment by assisting with meals, social engagement, and routines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED (see Education section for details)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working with older adults and some experience in elder care preferred
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of elder care best practices and resident-centered approaches
- Familiarity with infection control and basic safety procedures
- Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
- Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
