Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and independence
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident conditions, promptly reporting changes to nursing staff
• Perform safe transfer and mobility assistance to reduce fall risk and promote mobility
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident record to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and the care team to implement individualized care plans
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding as needed to promote nutritional health
• Respond calmly and effectively to resident needs and emergent situations during your shift

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Active registration on the state nursing assistant registry if applicable
• Prior experience caring for older adults or in long-term/post-acute settings is highly valued
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Compassionate communication skills and a team-focused attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of geriatric care principles and elder-centered approaches
• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance and safe patient handling
• Comfortable taking and interpreting basic vital signs and reporting concerns
• Accurate charting and basic familiarity with electronic documentation
• Infection control practices and adherence to facility policies
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and care teams
