Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert telemetry monitoring and timely EKG interpretation to detect and escalate dysrhythmias
• Perform thorough patient assessments and continuous monitoring for neuro and cardiac patients
• Titrate IV medications safely and accurately following physician orders
• Deliver stroke-focused care, including management of post-TPA patients and NIHSS assessments
• Document care and clinical decision-making clearly in Cerner
• Collaborate with intensivists, RT, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams for seamless 24/7 patient coverage
• Serve as a reliable team member who can float to Cardiac Tele or MedSurg Oncology when needed
• Participate in orientation and simulation lab activities to maintain unit competency

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for work in Arizona (License to submit required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (minimum explicitly required)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience is mandatory
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required prior to signing contract (maximum 2 attempts)
• Comfortable with 1:4 patient ratios on Tele Neuro and competent with GE telemetry monitoring
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotate weekends as required

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm troubleshooting
• Stroke care and NIHSS assessment skills
• IV drip titration and medication administration best practices
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication
• Ability to function well in acute care/telemetry settings with interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with neuro and post-operative telemetry patient populations
