Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat acute inpatient patients to restore mobility and functional independence
• Create individualized treatment plans that reflect best practices and patient goals
• Deliver specialty care across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics
• Use advanced equipment like underwater treadmills and conduct wheelchair fittings when indicated
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab team members to coordinate seamless care
• Document clinical findings and progress clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families to support safe transitions and ongoing recovery
• Travel between Corvallis and Albany sites as needed to meet patient demand

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon Physical Therapy license
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Experience or comfort working in acute care/inpatient settings preferred
• Ability to travel between multiple care sites (Corvallis and Albany)
• Weekend availability and willingness to work day shifts
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT, MPT, or equivalent) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning
• Experience with neurological rehabilitation, lymphedema care, and wheelchair fitting
• Familiarity with acute care workflows and documentation in electronic health records
• Comfort with pediatric through geriatric populations and varied acuity levels
• Ability to safely manage complex patients in a level 2 trauma center environment
• Time management, clinical reasoning, and patient/family education skills
