Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore, MD
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (NOC) — specific days to be confirmed
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, preserving dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
- Monitor and document resident status, including vital signs and changes in condition
- Support mobility, fall-prevention strategies, and safe transfers
- Communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, and family members to coordinate excellent care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control and safety protocols
- Participate in shift handoffs and accurate documentation to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- State registration or eligibility to work in Maryland preferred
- Experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a strong plus
- Reliable, compassionate, team-oriented attitude with solid communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skilled in ADLs (activities of daily living) assistance and mobility support
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
- Good teamwork, time management, and clear verbal/written communication
- Comfortable with basic electronic documentation or charting systems
