Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, preserving dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Monitor and document resident status, including vital signs and changes in condition
• Support mobility, fall-prevention strategies, and safe transfers
• Communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, and family members to coordinate excellent care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control and safety protocols
• Participate in shift handoffs and accurate documentation to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• State registration or eligibility to work in Maryland preferred
• Experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a strong plus
• Reliable, compassionate, team-oriented attitude with solid communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in ADLs (activities of daily living) assistance and mobility support
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
• Good teamwork, time management, and clear verbal/written communication
• Comfortable with basic electronic documentation or charting systems
