Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Monitor residents’ conditions and report changes to the nursing team to ensure timely interventions
• Provide safe, compassionate bedside care focused on comfort and quality of life for geriatric patients
• Support mobility and fall prevention efforts by assisting with transfers and safe ambulation
• Document care provided and resident responses accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to deliver person-centered care plans

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working with geriatric or rehabilitative patients preferred
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a night-shift care team
• Compassionate bedside manner and commitment to resident dignity and safety

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control and universal precautions
• Teamwork, time management, and reliable clinical observation skills
