Roles & Responsibilities

• Set up surgical instruments and equipment for each procedure with precision and care
• Sterilize and maintain inventory of instruments and supplies to ensure readiness
• Assist with patient preparation for surgery, supporting a calm and safe experience
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies to the surgeon efficiently and anticipatorily
• Perform accurate instrument and supply counts before, during, and after procedures
• Maintain an overall sterile environment throughout the operation
• Communicate clearly with the OR team to support smooth, timely case flow
• Complete other assigned duties that contribute to excellent perioperative care

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent is a plus
• Prior experience as a scrub tech or surgical technician in an operating room setting preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, instrument handling, and OR protocols
• Reliable, team-oriented mindset with good communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred

• Sterile technique and maintaining aseptic field
• Surgical setup and instrument organization
• Surgical instrument sterilization and handling
• Instrument counting and perioperative inventory control
• Instrument passing and anticipation of surgeon needs
• Patient preparation and positioning for surgery
• Operating room assistance and teamwork under pressure
