Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer and accurately document prescribed medications to ensure safe patient care
• Start and manage IV therapy, including IV insertion and ongoing IV maintenance
• Insert and care for urinary catheters and manage related documentation
• Perform wound care and dressing changes with attention to infection prevention and healing
• Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status, report adverse reactions or changes promptly
• Adjust and troubleshoot specialized medical equipment and accurately record measurements
• Conduct timely patient assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for care planning
• Provide compassionate patient and family education and support during hospitalization

Qualifications

• Active Oklahoma RN license (or compact RN license)
• BLS (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical (MS) nursing experience — required
• Recent travel nurse experience — preferred
• Up-to-date skills checklist (within 1 year) pertinent to the specialty
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Candidates must provide permanent address (facility may give placement consideration to local applicants)

• Medication administration and accurate medication documentation
• IV therapy and IV insertion skills
• Catheter insertion and care
• Wound care and dressing changes
• Patient assessment, monitoring, and recognition of clinical changes
• BLS (AHA) competency and NIHSS assessment skills
• Ability to adjust and interpret specialized medical equipment and measurements
• On-call readiness and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams
