Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for ICU patients with complex needs
• Manage and titrate ventilators safely and effectively for ventilated patients
• Perform continuous ICP and hemodynamic monitoring and respond to changes promptly
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy, and PCU staff
• Float to the PCU as needed while maintaining consistent standards of care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Meditech Expanse (preferred) and communicate patient status clearly
• Participate in orientation and follow facility policy for scheduling and time-off requests

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license — MUST be in-hand (facility will not pend license)
• Minimum 2 years current Critical Care experience (required)
• ACLS (AHA) — current
• BLS (AHA) — current
• NIHSS certification — current
• Willingness to float to PCU as required (mandatory)
• Own reliable vehicle for commute (firm requirement)
• TNCC and Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• BSN preferred
• One supervisory signed reference within the past two years and up-to-date work history

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced knowledge of ventilator management and weaning strategies
• Proficiency in intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring and interpretation
• Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management
• Critical care assessment and rapid intervention for unstable patients
• Familiarity with electronic health records, preferably Meditech Expanse
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Ability to follow strict scheduling and time-off submission procedures
