Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, including medication administration and basic nursing treatments
• Perform accurate assessments and report changes in patient condition to the care team
• Document care clearly and timely in the patient record to support continuity and safety
• Collaborate with RNs, providers and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Support patient and family education with empathy and clear communication
• Assist with procedures, admissions and discharges as directed by facility protocols
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and advocating for patient needs

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in New Mexico required; applicants who are RNs should hold a current RN license
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or must obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility credentialing
• Comfortable providing care in an acute or rehab setting and working night shifts
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program for LPN applicants
• If applying as an RN, graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical judgment and basic assessment skills
• Medication administration and safety practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clear documentation habits
• Infection control and wound care fundamentals
• Good time management, prioritization and teamwork abilities
• Compassionate bedside manner and effective patient education skills
