Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to assigned patients during overnight hours
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient status, changes, and interventions clearly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with orders and policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update individualized care plans
• Respond promptly to clinical changes and emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans in a respectful way
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control, safety, and documentation standards
• Support smooth handoffs and clear communication with day teams to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (RN) in New Mexico or compact state eligibility as required
• Relevant clinical experience in hospital/acute care settings preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
• Ability to work overnight hours reliably and maintain professional communication with patients and team
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a patient-focused approach

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or Diploma required)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and patient monitoring for acute and chronic conditions
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Proficient charting in electronic medical records and clear handoff communication
• Basic emergency response and triage skills for overnight care
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team collaboration
• Infection prevention, safety protocols, and adherence to facility policies
