Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients during the night shift
- Assess patient condition, develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care accurately
- Monitor patient status closely and escalate changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions and follow-up
- Perform accurate shift handoffs and maintain thorough clinical documentation
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico (or LPN where applicable)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Previous acute care experience preferred but new grads with strong clinical training are welcome
- Ability to pass facility background checks and required onboarding screenings
- Comfort working independently overnight and as part of a team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; nursing diploma or LPN certificate accepted where applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families and care teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
