Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Support mealtime routines and assist with feeding when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care and observations
- Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, safe environment for residents
- Help with safe transfers and fall prevention practices to keep residents secure
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) — your core credential for this role
- Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred or obtained upon hire, depending on facility)
- Comfortable caring for older adults and working within a long-term/post-acute setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (as required by facility policies)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic resident care skills and familiarity with geriatric needs
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Observation and reporting of changes in resident condition
- Infection control and proper use of PPE
- Friendly bedside manner and the ability to build rapport quickly
