Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore, MD
Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift). Specific work days scheduled as assigned; confirm exact days with the hiring manager.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support safe transfers and mobility while using proper body mechanics
- Take and record vital signs, noting and reporting any changes in condition
- Document care accurately and promptly in the patient chart or electronic record
- Follow individualized care plans and support therapy or activity programs
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control policies
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtain within hiring timeframe
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing or geriatric settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to work with older adults
Education
- High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with resident care tasks including bathing, dressing and toileting assistance
- Skilled in measuring and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
- Knowledge of basic infection prevention and proper PPE use
- Good documentation habits and basic computer/EHR familiarity
- Ability to safely assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a resident-centered focus
