Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices
• Help maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for residents
• Document care activities accurately and communicate with the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent in Maryland, or eligible to obtain
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience in long-term care or rehab settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved GNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skill in safe resident transfers and mobility assistance
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Infection control practices and safe hygiene techniques
• Teamwork and effective communication with residents, families and staff
