Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for geriatric residents
• Assist with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity
• Take and record basic vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Support resident participation in therapy and rehabilitation activities as directed
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, and families
• Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Act as a patient advocate and build trusting relationships with residents and their families
• Contribute to a positive team culture by assisting colleagues and participating in care planning

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a GNA/CNA training program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care standards, ADLs, and basic clinical tasks
• Skills in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Ability to record accurate documentation and follow care plans
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on a multidisciplinary team
• Awareness of infection control, safety procedures, and resident rights
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs in a busy setting
