Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in accordance with facility policies
- Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes and escalate concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and handoffs
- Support patient and family education with clear, empathetic communication
- Contribute to a culture of safety, quality improvement and professional practice
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license (RN or LPN) valid in New Mexico or eligible for state licensure
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS or other specialty certifications preferred when applicable
- Clinical experience in acute care preferred; new grads with strong clinical training are welcome to discuss opportunities
- Ability to work overnight shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Clear clinical judgement, strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma or BSN for RNs; accredited practical nursing program for LPNs)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Medication administration and IV/infusion knowledge
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Skills in patient/family education and discharge planning
- Excellent teamwork, communication and time management
- Ability to prioritize care and respond to clinical changes quickly
