Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, supporting activities of daily living with dignity and respect
• Assist nursing staff with resident transfers, mobility support, and safe patient handling
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the clinical team promptly
• Follow individualized care plans and document care accurately and professionally
• Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices, including monitoring dietary needs
• Foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident comfort, independence, and social engagement

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with elderly populations and a patient, respectful bedside manner
• Ability to pass facility background and health screenings as required
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but enthusiastic new grads are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and safe patient handling
• Basic clinical skills: vitals, ADL assistance, infection control practices
• Strong communication skills with residents, families, and care teams
• Ability to follow care plans and document observations accurately
• Teamwork mindset and flexibility in a fast-paced care environment
