Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents and support their daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility and feeding while preserving dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition, communicating observations to nursing staff
• Support social engagement and emotional well-being through attentive, person-centered interaction
• Document care accurately and promptly in facility records to ensure continuity and safety
• Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Active GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Comfortable working with older adults and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to represent the facility with professionalism

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Strong observational skills to notice subtle changes in resident condition
• Clear written and verbal communication for accurate documentation and handoffs
• Basic infection control, safe patient handling, and fall-prevention awareness
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
