Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during overnight shifts, monitoring and documenting patient status
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Conduct thorough assessments and report changes in condition to the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record and communicate handoffs effectively
- Support infection control, safety protocols and high standards of clinical practice
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications and discharge instructions
- Step into emergencies with calm, competent clinical response when needed
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license — able to practice in New Mexico
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (recommended if not already held)
- Clinical experience in acute care or similar settings preferred
- Strong assessment, communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass facility credentialing and any required background checks
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (for LPN) or an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN for RN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in medication administration and documentation
- Comfortable performing patient assessments and post-procedure monitoring
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Knowledge of infection prevention, safety standards and clinical protocols
- Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to prioritize care and respond effectively in urgent situations
