Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the clinical team
- Support the rehab team by following care plans and documenting progress
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
- Collaborate with nurses and therapists to ensure coordinated, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- State-required clearance and documentation for caregiving roles
- Comfortable working with older adults and a focus on geriatric care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable, professional attitude and a commitment to resident dignity
- BLS/CPR certification preferred where applicable
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent plus completion of a recognized GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic restorative care
- Ability to take and accurately document vital signs
- Familiarity with basic infection control and safety procedures
- Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in resident condition
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Basic charting and documentation skills
