Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Support rehabilitation activities in the Doctor's Rehab area by following care plans and therapist guidance
• Monitor, document, and promptly report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
• Contribute to a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehab settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited GNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance
• Safe patient transfer and mobility techniques
• Basic clinical observations such as taking vitals and recognizing changes
• Infection control and safety best practices
• Clear documentation and basic electronic charting familiarity
• Teamwork, time management, and compassionate bedside manner
