Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and respect
• Provide compassionate bedside care and companionship to support emotional well-being
• Measure and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Help with safe transfers and mobility assistance, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Support meal service and monitor intake, assisting residents as needed
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team for seamless resident care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience caring for older adults preferred but new grads with strong bedside manner welcome
• Comfortable with hands-on resident care, lifting/transferring (training provided when needed)
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care and resident-centered approaches
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Basic knowledge of infection control, safety, and hygiene practices
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
• Time management and multitasking to balance care needs during shift
• Familiarity with electronic or paper documentation systems is a plus
