Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care for individuals with Alzheimer's and other dementias
• Administer medications safely and accurately, following facility protocols
• Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Assess resident condition, monitor changes, and communicate findings to providers and families
• Implement behavior de-escalation and redirection techniques tailored to dementia care
• Document clinical care clearly and timely in the resident’s medical record
• Support activities of daily living and encourage meaningful engagement to enhance quality of life
• Mentor and collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and support staff to maintain a secure, therapeutic environment

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Washington) — required
• Previous experience in Alzheimer's/Dementia care or secured memory care unit preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or able to obtain prior to start)
• Demonstrated experience with medication administration and nursing assessments
• Ability to pass background check and required immunizations/vaccine verification
• Strong communication skills and a calm, patient approach to challenging behaviors
• Flexibility to work the posted days and support the secured unit environment

Education

• ADN or BSN preferred for Registered Nurse roles
• Practical Nursing diploma or certificate for LPN roles (if applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of dementia stages and person-centered care approaches
• Behavior management and non-pharmacologic intervention strategies
• Proficiency in medication administration and clinical assessment
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Skilled at communicating with families and interdisciplinary care teams
• Ability to maintain safety in secured memory care units
