Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents in a secured Alzheimer's/Dementia facility
• Oversee medication administration and accurate documentation in the resident chart
• Serve as the clinical lead when assigned as Charge Nurse, coordinating care and supporting the nursing team
• Monitor changes in resident condition and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and families
• Implement behavior management and de-escalation techniques tailored to dementia care
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards
• Contribute to care planning and person-centered interventions that preserve dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (RN) appropriate for practice in Washington
• Experience working with Alzheimer's/Dementia populations — facility notes call for dementia-focused care
• Previous clinical experience in long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred
• Charge Nurse experience or demonstrated leadership/clinical coordination skills a strong plus
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain per facility requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred for RN role)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dementia care strategies and person-centered approaches
• Proficient in medication administration, wound care basics, and clinical observation
• Excellent communication skills for working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Leadership and team coordination skills when functioning as Charge Nurse
• Reliable charting and documentation practices to meet regulatory and facility standards
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm in a busy long-term care environment
