Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care including bathing, dressing and mobility assistance
• Measure and document vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort and dignity
• Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and staff
• Maintain clean, safe patient environments and follow infection control protocols
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and care team members to ensure coordinated care
• Document care activities in the chart promptly and accurately to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (state-appropriate) in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility immunization requirements
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong teamwork skills
• Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care experience preferred but new CNAs are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program completion and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection prevention practices
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing changes in patient condition
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Familiarity with patient safety, mobility assistance, and proper body mechanics
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
