Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient centered nursing care to adults in the assigned unit
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the medical record
• Perform ongoing clinical assessments and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe care
• Support patients and families with education and clear communication during transitions
• Ensure accurate handoffs and maintain compliance with facility policies and standards
• Contribute to a positive work environment by mentoring peers and supporting teamwork

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse credential in good standing
• Active state license or ability to obtain state licensure for New Mexico
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain upon hire
• Prior clinical experience in acute care or similar settings preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking and patient advocacy skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program or equivalent practical nursing program
• For RN candidates, completion of an accredited ADN or BSN program

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and reliable medication administration
• Patient documentation and charting accuracy
• Infection prevention and safety best practices
• Effective communication with patients, families and care teams
• Ability to function in fast paced environments and prioritize care
