Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to geriatric patients during the night shift
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs, report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support mobility and safe transfers using proper techniques to prevent falls and injuries
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
• Collaborate with rehab and nursing teams to support individualized care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families and the care team

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Eligible to work in Maryland and able to complete facility background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable and experienced caring for older adults; empathy and patience are a must
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently on night shifts
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail in documentation

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and supporting resident dignity
• Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
• Knowledge of infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic/paper charting
• Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Understanding of fall prevention and safe transfer techniques
