Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing and mobility
- Provide compassionate personal care while preserving dignity and independence
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and positioning to prevent injury
- Document care provided accurately and communicate observations clearly
- Help create a warm, social environment that promotes resident well-being
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in North Carolina required
- Active CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
- Ability to pass facility-required background check and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a resident-centered mindset
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the assigned evening shift
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing care skills and resident assistance techniques
- Competence in taking and recording vital signs
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Familiarity with electronic documentation or willingness to learn
- Teamwork, time management and de-escalation skills
- Compassionate interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and families
