Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting daily living activities with dignity
- Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility and meal assistance while promoting independence
- Observe and report changes in resident condition promptly to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate resident records and documentation to ensure continuity of care
- Support safe transfers and fall-prevention protocols to protect residents
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- State GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and experienced in basic geriatric care
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited GNA program (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living)
- Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Ability to follow care plans and report clinical concerns
- Compassionate bedside manner and patience with memory-impaired residents
- Good mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
