Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in scrub, monitor, and circulating roles during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Support electrophysiology (EP) and hybrid lab cases with precision and calm under pressure
• Respond to STEMI and cardiogenic shock activations quickly to help save lives
• Prepare and maintain cath and EP suites, instruments, and sterile fields
• Document procedures and patient information accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond within the required 30-minute timeframe
• Support department orientation and float within the unit as needed

Qualifications

• RCIS or RCES certification required (via CCI)
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant cardiovascular/cath lab experience
• Experience with STEMI management and cardiovascular lab procedures
• Comfortable working in hybrid lab/EP environments and trauma Level 1 settings
• On-call experience and strong call response time management
• Must be able to be in-state for the week of orientation; driver’s license must be submitted (60-mile radius requirement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology (EP) procedures
• Skilled in scrub, monitor, and circulating roles
• Familiarity with STEMI protocols and emergent cardiovascular interventions
• Experience with Epic (EpicCare Inpatient) charting and documentation
• Ability to handle high-volume case days (10-20 cases/day) with composure
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
