Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to neonatal patients in the NICU setting with compassion and precision
- Manage and monitor ventilators and respiratory support devices, adjusting therapy based on clinical needs
- Perform assessments, document interventions, and evaluate patient response clearly and timely
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary NICU staff to optimize outcomes
- Complete required Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty competency testing to maintain top standards
- Maintain accurate licensure and certifications and participate in ongoing professional development
- Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies, including immunization and screening requirements
Qualifications
- NICU experience required (EOW EOH NICU experience REQUIRED as stated in order)
- Active respiratory therapy credentials and License/Certificate Verification required
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Compliance with health requirements: Trinity Color Vision, MMR, Hepatitis B, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Fit Test, 10-panel drug screen, Tdap, COVID-19 and influenza vaccine, and physical/health statement
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of neonatal respiratory care and NICU protocols
- Skill with ventilator management and neonatal respiratory support devices
- Comfortable with documentation systems and concise clinical charting
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced multidisciplinary NICU team
- Familiarity with competency testing and credentialing processes (Trinity workflows)
- Solid infection prevention practices and adherence to immunization requirements
