Shift Type: Rotating shifts; every 3rd weekend (EOH — evenings/overnights/holidays), rotating coverage including weekends
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care to birthing people and newborns
- Monitor fetal heart patterns and maternal status using Fetal Heart Monitoring to ensure safe deliveries
- Perform neonatal resuscitation (NRP) interventions when required to support newborn health
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiology, and the perinatal team for coordinated care
- Educate patients and families about labor progression, newborn care, and postpartum needs
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required competency checklists and testing
- Participate in unit-level quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (valid in Iowa or appropriate compact licensure)
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
- AWHONN and/or documented Fetal Heart Monitoring competency required
- Experience in Labor & Delivery and comfort with neonatal resuscitation and fetal monitoring
- Willingness to complete Trinity skills checklist and specialty-specific competency testing
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of labor progression, delivery procedures, and postpartum care
- Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring interpretation and maternal-fetal assessment
- Skilled in neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings
- Ability to function calmly under pressure and prioritize patient safety
- Familiarity with required health screenings and immunizations for clinical staff
