Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the CVOR team during open heart, lung and vascular procedures with precision and calm
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and instrument trays specific to cardiac and vascular cases
• Anticipate procedural needs and provide instruments and supplies promptly to support smooth case flow
• Perform accurate sponge/instrument counts and documentation to ensure patient safety
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
• Collaborate with perioperative staff to ensure efficient turnover and timely patient care

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Experience with open heart procedures, lung procedures and vascular procedures (demonstrated CVOR experience preferred)
• Ability to complete Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• License/certificate verification as required by facility
• Required pre-employment health clearances: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, 2-step PPD or IGRA, COVID-19 and influenza vaccination, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, fit test and Trinity color vision

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and CVOR instrumentation
• Ability to set up specialty cardiac and vascular instrument trays efficiently
• Comfort working in high-acuity operative environments with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in the OR
• Familiarity with surgical counts, documentation, and safety protocols
