Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to adult patients
• Administer chemotherapy and other oncologic treatments safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor for treatment-related side effects
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring smooth transitions and clear communication
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and symptom management
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Respond promptly to clinical emergencies and participate in unit-based safety practices
• Support weekend coverage and holiday rotations, stepping in for call-ins and RTO as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — License/Certificate Verification required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• TNCC and NIHSS certification as listed in the assignment requirements
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Compliance with health requirements: fit test, immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap), COVID-19 and annual influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, and physical/health statement
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on a travel/contract assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing principles, chemotherapy administration, and symptom management
• IV therapy, medication safety, and infusion pump competence
• Patient assessment, triage, and early recognition of clinical deterioration
• Clear, compassionate patient and family education skills
• Electronic medical record documentation and care coordination
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and adapt to unit workflows
