Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating shifts including weekends and holiday rotations (Every-other-week and Every-other-holiday rotation). Weekend makeup shifts for call-ins and coverage as needed; exact start/end times vary by unit.
Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg patient care — assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following facility protocols
- Monitor patient status closely and communicate changes promptly to the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to create and carry out individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans to support recovery
- Participate in unit competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical excellence
- Support unit staffing needs by covering weekend makeup shifts and holiday rotations when required
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa (or compact RN eligible)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
- Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Ability to pass Trinity 10-panel drug screen, fit test, and required health screenings (MMR, Hep B, Tdap, Varicella, COVID-19, Influenza, PPD/IGRA)
- Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred; strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid Med/Surg nursing knowledge and hands-on patient care skills
- Effective clinical assessment, triage and critical thinking abilities
- Medication administration, IV therapy and monitoring proficiency
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Comfort with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Ability to adapt to changing patient acuity and unit needs
