Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead risk identification and mitigation efforts to improve patient safety
• Review clinical documentation and events in Epic to identify opportunities for improvement
• Conduct or support root cause analyses and follow-up action plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement process and policy changes
• Provide education and coaching to clinical staff on risk reduction and best practices
• Participate in on-call risk coverage and holiday rotation as scheduled
• Complete required competency testing and documentation to maintain clinical readiness
• Escalate urgent safety concerns and track outcomes to closure

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record strongly preferred
• Background or experience in clinical risk management, quality, or patient safety
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Meet routine health and screening requirements (fit test, drug screen, immunizations, TB testing, physical/health statement)
• Comfort participating in on-call and holiday rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Epic for clinical review and documentation
• Solid understanding of risk management principles and incident reporting
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance, patient safety, and quality improvement
• Organizational skills to manage cases, follow-up items, and required testing
