Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, typically 3 nights per week (36 hours/week), every other weekend; may float to adult side as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care for neonatal and pediatric patients, including ventilator management and airway support
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and pediatric respiratory interventions according to protocols
- Monitor respiratory status, interpret blood gases, and adjust therapy with clinical judgment
- Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Respond quickly and calmly to respiratory emergencies and participate in codes as needed
- Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ensure proper infection control practices
- Float to adult units as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork
Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license/certification for Illinois (state licensure required)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications required and up to date
- Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist (or equivalent competency verification) required
- Current fit test, immunizations and negative drug screen per facility policy
- Demonstrated experience or training in neonatal/pediatric respiratory care preferred
- Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to perform under pressure
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate degree or higher) or equivalent credentialed training
- CRT or RRT credential preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal and pediatric ventilator management and airway support
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) protocols and pediatric advanced life support
- Ability to interpret blood gases and titrate respiratory therapy
- Familiarity with neonatal monitoring equipment and infection prevention best practices
- Clear communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Accurate clinical documentation in electronic health records
