Shift Type: Rotating shifts with every-other-week (EOW) holiday rotation; schedule includes day and night rotations and weekend coverage (specific start/end times vary by unit)
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based respiratory care for NICU patients, including ventilator management and non-invasive support
- Perform neonatal resuscitation interventions in accordance with NRP guidelines when required
- Monitor and interpret blood gases and ventilator settings, adjusting care in collaboration with the neonatal team
- Participate in unit-specific competency testing and maintain currency with Trinity skills checklists
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with families and multidisciplinary team members about respiratory plans and progress
- Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record and assist with unit quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist license (RT) — must be valid for practice in Iowa
- NICU experience required — demonstrated neonatal respiratory care skills
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP required
- Ability to successfully complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
- Successful completion of required health screenings and immunizations (fit test, 10-panel drug screen, MMR, Hep B, TB testing or IGRA, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, influenza)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to work rotating schedules including holidays
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal ventilator management and non-invasive respiratory support
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) protocols and practical application
- Arterial blood gas interpretation and bedside respiratory assessment
- Familiarity with NICU workflows and family-centered care practices
- Competency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to pass facility-specific competency and skills evaluations
