Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care to birthing people and their families
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using established protocols and intervene promptly when changes occur
• Perform neonatal stabilization and collaborate with the team during deliveries, including emergency situations
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on labor progress, postpartum care, and newborn care to empower safe transitions
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and maintain required skills and certifications

Qualifications

• Active RN license (license/certificate verification required)
• Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery clinical experience
• Current BLS, NRP, and NIHSS certifications
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Up-to-date health requirements: fit test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, COVID-19 and influenza vaccines, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Trinity 10-panel drug screen
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery procedures, fetal monitoring, and obstetric protocols
• Skilled in neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care (NRP)
• Proficient in maternal assessment, medication administration, and emergency response
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Comfortable with electronic charting and accurate documentation practices
