Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care to birthing people and their families
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using established protocols and intervene promptly when changes occur
- Perform neonatal stabilization and collaborate with the team during deliveries, including emergency situations
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on labor progress, postpartum care, and newborn care to empower safe transitions
- Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and maintain required skills and certifications
Qualifications
- Active RN license (license/certificate verification required)
- Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery clinical experience
- Current BLS, NRP, and NIHSS certifications
- Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
- Up-to-date health requirements: fit test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, COVID-19 and influenza vaccines, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Trinity 10-panel drug screen
- Ability to pass required background and health screenings
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of labor and delivery procedures, fetal monitoring, and obstetric protocols
- Skilled in neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care (NRP)
- Proficient in maternal assessment, medication administration, and emergency response
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Comfortable with electronic charting and accurate documentation practices
