Roles & Responsibilities

• Process and analyze patient specimens accurately and efficiently to support timely clinical decisions
• Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments while following manufacturer and facility guidelines
• Perform quality control and documentation to ensure reliable, regulatory-compliant results
• Complete required competency testing and Trinity-specific checklists to maintain clinical proficiency
• Collaborate with nurses, clinicians and lab colleagues to deliver excellent patient care
• Adhere to laboratory safety, infection control and specimen handling protocols at all times
• Communicate critical results clearly and follow escalation procedures when needed

Qualifications

• Active Medical Laboratory Technician certification or state license (as required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Willingness and ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Successful completion of required health screenings and immunizations (PPD/IGRA, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, flu, drug screen, fit test, color vision)
• Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred and a strong commitment to accuracy and patient care
• Ability to pass License/Certificate verification and facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate degree or certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (required or preferred depending on facility)
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field may be preferred for some roles

Knowledge & Skills

• Specimen collection, handling and processing best practices
• Familiarity with routine laboratory instrumentation and maintenance
• Quality control, troubleshooting and documentation skills
• Understanding of laboratory information systems and result reporting
• Strong attention to detail and time management
• Effective communication and teamwork in a clinical environment
• Knowledge of infection control and lab safety procedures
