Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures
• Assist the interventional radiology team with patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery
• Monitor patient vitals and respond quickly to changes in condition during procedures and while on-call
• Maintain sterile technique and procedural safety standards in the IR suite
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to ensure smooth case flow and excellent patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care, and discharge instructions
• Participate in on-call rotations and be ready to respond for scheduled weekday and weekend calls

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) with license verification required
• Experience or competency in Interventional Radiology procedures (IR) preferred
• BLS certification required
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and required facility competencies
• Successful completion of Fit Test and Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen as part of pre-hire screening
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screening (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA, physical/health statement)

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (must meet Maryland licensing requirements)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of interventional radiology workflows and procedural support
• Proficient in patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Skillful at sterile technique, infection control, and procedural safety
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced procedural environment
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making during procedures and on-call situations
• Familiarity with electronic health records and peri-procedural documentation
