Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist interventional radiologists and cardiovascular specialists during procedures, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, imaging systems, and procedure rooms before, during, and after cases
- Operate fluoroscopy/angiography and other imaging equipment with attention to radiation safety and image quality
- Position patients accurately and monitor vital signs throughout procedures
- Document procedures, maintain accurate records, and ensure proper labeling of images and specimens
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and tech team members to optimize patient flow and procedural efficiency
- Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
Qualifications
- Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist (role-specific background preferred)
- Current BLS certification (required)
- License or certificate verification as required by facility (explicitly required)
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist (required by engagement)
- Ability to meet health and screening requirements listed by the facility
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with interventional radiology and cardiovascular procedural workflows
- Skill operating fluoroscopy and angiography imaging equipment
- Strong infection control and sterile technique practices
- Excellent patient communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation and equipment setup
