Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) environment
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment for cardiovascular procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure patient safety and smooth case flow
- Monitor and document patient status before, during, and after procedures, intervening promptly when needed
- Participate in specialty competence testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
- Support holiday and staffing rotations as needed to ensure continuous, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (State verification required) — license/certificate verification will be completed
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS (TNCC and NIHSS listed as required certifications)
- CVOR clinical experience or demonstrated competency in cardiovascular operating room practice
- Completion of facility-specific competency testing (Trinity specialty skills and checklists)
- Ability to pass pre-employment health screenings: fit test, drug screen, immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, influenza), and TB screening
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR instrumentation specific to cardiovascular cases
- Proficiency in patient monitoring and recognizing perioperative complications
- Familiarity with Trinity specialty-specific competency expectations and checklists
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills in high-acuity settings
- Comfort working holiday rotations and adapting to variable schedules
