Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) environment
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment for cardiovascular procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure patient safety and smooth case flow
• Monitor and document patient status before, during, and after procedures, intervening promptly when needed
• Participate in specialty competence testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Support holiday and staffing rotations as needed to ensure continuous, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (State verification required) — license/certificate verification will be completed
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS (TNCC and NIHSS listed as required certifications)
• CVOR clinical experience or demonstrated competency in cardiovascular operating room practice
• Completion of facility-specific competency testing (Trinity specialty skills and checklists)
• Ability to pass pre-employment health screenings: fit test, drug screen, immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, influenza), and TB screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR instrumentation specific to cardiovascular cases
• Proficiency in patient monitoring and recognizing perioperative complications
• Familiarity with Trinity specialty-specific competency expectations and checklists
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills in high-acuity settings
• Comfort working holiday rotations and adapting to variable schedules
