Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic sonography for vascular studies including DVT scans and carotid imaging to provide critical answers for ER and inpatient teams
• Scan abdominal and OB exams (RUQ, renal, pelvic, obstetric) with precision and compassionate patient care
• Operate GE ultrasound equipment and document studies accurately in Epic to ensure clear, actionable reports
• Work independently overnight to prioritize, triage, and complete studies that support a busy emergency department and inpatient population
• Maintain infection control and safety standards, complete required competencies, and participate in skills checklists
• Communicate findings and collaborate with physicians and care teams to impact patient care in urgent situations

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification preferred (vascular specialty a plus)
• BLS required
• Minimum 3 years of ultrasound/sonography experience with strong vascular (DVT) exposure
• Comfortable working independently overnight and taking ownership of workload
• Proven experience with Epic EMR and GE ultrasound systems
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklist
• Current license/certification verification and up-to-date health requirements (vaccines, screenings, drug screen)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Vascular ultrasound techniques including DVT and carotid imaging
• Abdominal, RUQ, renal, pelvic, scrotal and obstetric sonography
• Operation and troubleshooting of GE ultrasound equipment
• Proficiency with Epic for ordering, documenting, and communicating results
• Strong clinical judgment, time management, and ability to prioritize in a busy ED setting
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner during sensitive exams
