Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a high-acuity emergency setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to protocols and physician orders
• Perform acute care procedures including IV placement, wound care and urgent interventions
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes using ACLS and BLS principles
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document assessment findings, interventions and patient education clearly and promptly
• Participate in emergency response and stabilization for critical patients
• Support patient and family education during stressful moments with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact license as applicable
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency
• Experience in Emergency Room or acute care nursing preferred
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist as required
• Successful completion of license and certificate verification, fit test and required drug screening
• Up to date immunizations including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, and TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing and acute care knowledge
• Proficient in triage, rapid assessment and prioritization
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, ACLS protocols and emergency medication administration
• Comfortable with high-paced decision making and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Excellent clinical documentation and electronic medical record navigation
• Ability to maintain composure during crises and provide clear patient communication
• Familiarity with unit competency testing and compliance requirements
