Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a fast-paced ER
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical presentation
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Perform focused assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate changes in condition
• Participate in specialty competency testing (Trinity-specific) and skills checklists to demonstrate ER expertise
• Maintain compliance with required health screenings and immunizations for patient safety

Qualifications

• Current RN license (ability to verify license/certification as listed) — Iowa licensure or compact eligible preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications required
• NIHSS certification listed as a required competency
• Current fit for duty (physical/health statement) and required immunizations and screenings
• Prior emergency nursing experience preferred; ability to work independently in a busy ER environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Proficiency with ACLS/PALS algorithms and emergency interventions
• Skilled in IV/medication administration, wound care, and acute stabilization
• Comfortable with fast-paced decision making and multi-patient management
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with specialty competency testing and electronic documentation
