Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with urgency and compassion
• Perform rapid triage and prioritization to ensure the sickest patients get attention first
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to coordinate care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
• Stabilize trauma and stroke patients using TNCC and NIHSS-guided practices
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and next steps with clarity and empathy
• Participate in unit-based competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) in good standing
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certification or willingness to complete prior to start
• Current fit test and required immunizations/vaccines (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella)
• Successful completion of Trinity 10 panel drug screen and license/certificate verification
• Previous emergency department experience preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency/trauma assessment and triage skills
• Proficiency with rapid sequence intubation support and airway management
• Familiarity with stroke assessment (NIHSS) and time-sensitive interventions
• IV insertion, medication administration, and ACLS/PALS algorithms
• Excellent critical thinking, situational awareness, and multitasking under pressure
• Clear communication with multidisciplinary teams and with patients/families
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and specialty checklists
