Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for laboring and delivering patients across LDRP
- Monitor fetal heart tracings and intervene according to unit protocols to promote safe outcomes
- Perform neonatal resuscitation (NRP) when needed and support immediate newborn care
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatal staff and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately and timely
- Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness
- Educate patients and families about labor, delivery and postpartum care with compassion and clarity
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (state licensure verification required)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
- AWHONN and Fetal Heart Monitoring competency required
- Experience in Labor and Delivery / LDRP required
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Required personal health documentation: fit test, COVID-19 vaccine, immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap), 2-step PPD or IGRA, influenza vaccine, physical/health statement
- Trinity 10-panel drug screen and any other pre-employment screenings as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in fetal heart monitoring interpretation and maternal-fetal assessment
- Competent in neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care
- Strong labor and delivery clinical judgment and critical thinking
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
- Accurate clinical documentation and charting
- Ability to maintain required certifications and complete competency testing
